US Men's Basketball Team

Last night the US men's basketball team beat Nigeria 153 to 71 and set an Olympic record for most points scored in a game.  The previous  record of 138 points had been set by Brazil in 1988.  Here are just a few of the statistics from last night's game:

- Overall shooting 58 of 81 (72%)
- 2 point shooting 29 of 36 (81%)
- 3 point shooting 29 of 45 (64%)
- Free throw shooting: 8 of 12 (67%)
- 36 rebounds
- 49 assists
- 7 turnovers

The other game of the evening saw Great Britain losing to Spain by a score of 78-79. Luol Deng of the Chicago Bulls plays for Great Britain.  (In case you might not know, I live in the Chicago area.)
