First Trip to the Olympic Stadium

American Lashinda Demus way out ahead of the field in her heat of the women's 400m hurdles.

The field of the women's 3,000m steeplechase final go through the water hazard for the first time.

Felix Sanchez of the Dominican Republic pulls away from the field to win the men's 400m in a time of 47.63 seconds.  That's exactly the same time Sanchez ran to win this event at the Olympics in 2004 in Athens.

Tonight's schedule of events at the Olympic Stadium included the gold medal ceremony for the 100m.  Here are some photos from that ceremony:
