Inside the Olympic Park

The Olympic Park complex covers over 500 acres and contains not only the athletes' Olympic Village but also eight of the Olympic venues.  Those venues are the Aquatic Center (swimming, diving and synchronised swimming), the Basketball Arena (basketball and team handball), the BMX track (BMX bicycle racing), Copper Box (team handball), the Velodrome (cycling), Olympic Stadium (the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and track & field), Riverbank Arena (field hockey) and Water Polo Arena.

The park includes not only the sporting venues but gardens, walkways, waterways and food and merchandise vendors.

There are pharmacies located all over the Olympic Park.

If the concern for security was so great at the Olympic Park that the police needed to carry machine guns, should they have spent any of their time posing for pictures?

The Basketball Arena.

There is entertainment all over the park.  This marching band was from Martin Luther King High School in Detroit, MI.

The set for NBC's today show.
